Main unit based at Camp Thomas (near Horsham St Faith) or Norwich, c 1943-1945. Detachment A based at Shipdham, 1943 and Wendling c 1943-1945. Detachment B based at Horsham St Faith 1943 and Morley Hall, c 1943-1944.\r\nThe 987th Military Police Company, Detachment 'B', was stationed at the 77th, later the 231st Station Hospital, near Morley Hall, Wymondham. On D-Day, this Military Police Detachment acted as road guards along the route from Spooner Row Station, Wymondham, where the hospital trains arrived carrying wounded casualties, to the Station Hospital. For most of his tour of duty, John Rex was based at Morley Hall and was assigned to the area south of East Harling. The military police worked closely with the local constabulary.
