Cringleford Manor draft bailiff's account and receipts

Including a draft bailiff's account with livestock account on two paper bifolia, Michaelmas 20-21 Henry VI [1441-2] with an account of the receipt of payments from the farmer of the mill at Cringleford, John Mylham for the same year, and three related receipts and also a letter by William Skyn[ner] to Master Hugh Acton [Master of the Hospital of St Giles] in English passing on a letter of Hugh's to the boatman to deliver, nd [1440s].

Little Melton Manor bailiff's rents and farms accounts, rentals and firmals

Mainly on paper, but with some parchment accounts also. The only accountant identified is John Palmer, bailiff there from the 1460s-1480s. His annual accounts (essentially schedules of rents and farms owed) were presented at Pentecost (usually in May) each year, but others were 'renewed' after Trinity Sunday (June) or at Michaelmas or the nearby festival of St Faith's (29 Sep-6 Oct).
Includes a rental for the year 1532 and other rentals covering half-year's rents survive from 1541 and 1561.
With a roll wrapper with an ? early 17th century inscription in Latin, 'The rentals of the Manor of Little Melton in the county of Norfolk from the times of the recent kings, Henry VIII, Edward VI, Philip and Mary and of Queen Elizabeth', and additionally, 'Henry VI, Edward IV, Edward V'. Despite this label, the majority of the surviving accounts/rentals date from the reigns of just Henry VI, Edward IV and Henry VIII, with just one from Henry VII's time and two from Elizabeth's reign.

Volume containing messor's rental 1515; account of rents for farm of demesne, of sales of underwood on Burgravewood and of haywardship and hen rents c 1564-1568; particulars of rents of manor 1653; survey of landowners 1663; notes on area of Burggravewood and Elmham Park; copy of inquisition at manor court re Beetley Common 1532; abstract of PD 209/437. Loose in the volume are 2 leaves containing copies of deeds:- a messuage with lands and 3 foldcourses conveyed by William Fysher to John Heydon, Ralph Shelton et al 1453; by them to John Bulman, Henry Smyth et al 1454, by them to Thomas Brampton et al. 1466 Messuage with a 12ft site in market place by Richard Cope to John Mayken, Robert Shyttel et al. 1519; by William Franklyn to Edmund Dennye 1572. These are possibly town lands.
