Scope and content

The same types of records were kept in each division but the names by which they were known were not standardized. We have tried to achieve uniformity in our lists: minute books, hearing books and court registers, though different in form, contain substantially the same information while evidence books are manuscript or shorthand notes of the evidence given in court, compiled by the justices' clerk.
