Letter, Earl of Orford to Lieutenant Harvey.

Earl of Orford, in reply to a note from Lieutenant Harvey, apologizes to the same for troubling the Trustees of [Norfolk and] Norwich Hospital regarding an exchange of land between the Earl and the hospital. The Earl asks that Harvey meet with him before the Court of Trustees' meeting on 6th September.

Sir Thomas Knyvett's lawsuits and other concerns inc. purchase of the Parry estate and sale of North Creake manor. Inc. refs. to plague in Norwich and London, death of Henry's patron, Sir Francis Drake's attack on Spain, 1587, and other public news, death of Henry's wife and care of his crippled son Mun. Reply noted on one letter and on another draft letter to Mr Hooper re hiring a house, (?) 1585-1602 and undated.

Re death of Sir Thomas's brother Henry and asking for assistance for Henry's son Henry. Henry's other children's situations are described and it is suggested that Henry be placed with Roger Aston 'a principall inward favorite of his Majestie'. Ref. to preparation of the Queen's funeral and expectation of the King's coming. 'The last troblesome business is a parliament'.
