System of arrangement

In this series of title deeds 'venella' is translated as 'lane', 'reng(e)ata' as 'range': for interpretation of these terms in relation to Gt Yarmouth topography of 'rows', see Elizabeth and Paul Rutledge, 'King's Lynn and Great Yarmouth, two thirteenth century surveys', Norfolk Archaeology, vol. XXXVII (1978).
Some undated deeds can be assigned a date from the names of the four bailiffs: for this purpose Hamon Le Strange, Norfolk Official Lists, (Norwich 1890) has been used, as corrected and extended by P. Rutledge in Norfolk Archaeology, vol. XL (1988).
