Biographical history

John H. Woolnough was born on 3 May 1921. He was the pilot of crew nos. 715 and 443. He continued to serve in the United States Air Force after the end of his 30 mission tour and retired as a Lieutenantt Colonel. After retirement, he founded the 466th Bomb Group Association and, in 1975, he founded the 8th Air Force Historical Society. He has also written several books on the 8th Air Force. He died in Hollywood, Florida on 9 December 1990.
