History

His surname was from the town of Alnwick in Northumberland. Prior of Wymondham, Norfolk, in 1420 by the abbot of St Alban's. Appointed Bishop of Norwich 27 February 1426, temporalities 4 May 1426, consecrated by Archbishop Chicheley in Canterbury Cathedral 18 August 1426. Installed at Norwich 22 December 1426. Built the principal entrance to the bishop's palace on the north side opposite St Martin's Church. Transferred to Lincoln 19 September 1436. Buried in Lincoln Cathedral. Died 5 December 1449.
