Watton Afternoon Women's Institute was founded c 1976 and meetings were usually held on the first Thursday of the month at The Wayland Hall. It was voted to close the Institute at a meeting on 5 November 1998. There was also another Women's Institute in this area, know as Watton and District Evening Women's Institute, 1948-1985.
