Born in New York in 1915.
Enlisted in the American Air Corps December 1941. USAAF officer stationed at Division Headquarters, 1943-1945. Founder member of the 2nd Air Division Association, 1947. Honorary Life President of 2nd Air Division Association, 1989-2009. Jordan Uttal was an officer stationed at Headquarters with responsibility for statistical data, including bombing accuracy analysis. In December 1944, Uttal married Joyce Christie Walters/King, a British Civilian Assistant with the Red Cross, at City Hall, Norwich. Jordan Uttal enlisted in the US military following the attack on Pearl Harbour, December 1941, and arrived in Norfolk in May 1943. He was stationed at 2nd Air Division Headquarters, obtaining the rank of Major by the end of his military service, and had overall responsibility for statistical data, including bombing accuracy analysis. In December 1944, Uttal married Joyce Christie Walters/King, a British Civilian Assistant with the Red Cross, at City Hall, Norwich. After the Second World War, Jordan returned to America with Joyce and worked in the American food industry.
Jordan Uttal was also a central figure of the 2nd Air Division Association for over 62 years, serving, since 1989, as its honorary president. He was one of six officers who had been stationed at Headquarters in Norfolk during the Second World War, who met in Chicago for an informal reunion in 1947 and from which the 2nd Air Division Association arose.
Died in Dallas, Texas at 94.
