History

Brother of Henry Percy, Earl of Northumberland. Prov. 4 February 1355, enthroned 1355. temporalities 14 April 1355, consecrated 3 January 1356. Made bishop at 22 years old on account of his noble descent and personal abilities. Cathedral steeple was blown down and the choir badly damaged on 15 January 1361. He gave 400l from his own money for the repairs. Died 8 August 1369 and buried in the cathedral. Died 8 August 1369.
