History

Chancellor of the College of William and Mary in 1762, but died after a few months. In 1758 he sent Benjamin Gooch to visit all of the London hospitals to research their design and management, for the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. Nominated 13 October 1749, consecrated 3 December 1749. Translated to London 24 October 1761.
Wrote: 'Remarks on Mr Hume's Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion' (1780).
