History

Theodore 'Ted' Kaye (born Theodore Kalatzky, in New York, 24 April 1923) was stationed with the 445th Bomb Group. He served as a nose-gunner. Kaye's first mission was over Saarbrucken, Germany, 30th November 1944, and his 35th mission was to Royan, France, 15 April 1945.

Kaye's wife Pauline was born 29 June 1919, North Clairton, Pennsylvania, and died in 1992. Their daughter, Thea Emily (later Starr), was born 3 August 1947, New York.

After the war, Kaye worked as head chemist at the Eberhard Faber Pencil Company and lived at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He died on 29 January 2004 ,aged 80 years. Under the terms of his will, the residue of Ted Kaye's estate was left to the 2nd Air Division Memorial Library and therefore this archive contains copies of some probate documents.
