Married Emily Morse 1829, made Revising Barrister on the Norfolk Circuit 1832, appointed as Chancellor 1844. President of Board of Directors of the Norwich Union Fire Office, Chairman of the Norwich Board of Guardians, Chairman of the Trustees of the Grammar School, Treasurer of Norman's Charity. Died after a fall from his pony.

Administrative history

The East Norfolk Militia was formed under the Militia Act of 1757. The headquarters were based in Great Yarmouth. In 1881 the Militia became the 4th Battalion of the Norfolk Regiment, which was later known as the Royal Norfolk Regiment, the 1st East Anglian Regiment and the Royal Anglian Regiment.
