  • South Denes Power Station was Great Yarmouth's second power plant, opened in 1958, on South Denes Road. It closed in 1984, briefly re-opened during the miners' strike (1984-5) but was finally shut down and demolished in 1994-97. The current gas power station plant was built on the site by Bechtel for British Petroleum between 1998 and 2001.
