History
Son of William Yallop, glover. Wife Mary Anne, daughter of Peter Watts. Sheriff in 1805, and mayor in 1815 and 1831. Elected alderman for the Great North Ward in 1809. A partner in the firm of Dunham and Yallop, goldsmiths. Business at corner of Davey Place and Gentleman's Walk, Norwich. Chaired a meeting which decided to inaugurate a savings bank. In his second mayoralty he presented to the king with his brother-in-law, Nathaniel Bolingbroke, a petition in favour of reform, whereupon he was knighted. Buried in the family vault in St Peter Mancroft Church, Norwich. Died June 1835 aged 72 years at Brighton. Lived at 4, Chapelfield North, Norwich.
