About 20 years ago let himself to Samuel Parsley, farmer, of Needham near Harleston for 1 year and then for 4 more years. He now serves in the Norfolk militia. About 11 years ago he made a contract with William Leeds, hot presser [of textiles], of St Martin at Palace, Norwich for 3 years to be trained as a hot presser. He was to board and lodge himself. He has not qualified for settlement since then.
