Scope and content

Including presentments, by views of 18-28 August, of all faults hindering navigation along the river and for bank clearance along various sections of the Rivers Wensum and Yare from Heigham to Hardley Cross, with many references to river reach and creek place-names, and which are numbered on bottom, left-hand corner of each parchment. Also includes office-copy river amendment orders, bundled by view date, delivered to those presented by the jury of sewers, with numbers corresponding to those on the presentments of particular view-dates. Endorsed on the copies are notes of delivery by the court bailiff or local constable to offenders, detailing when and where they left the sealed orders and with whom (often family, agents or servants are named) and occasionally indicating delivery failure through the death of the intended target.
