Surname comes from the placename in Norfolk. Probably his place of birth. He was a monk at Norwich, and in 1257 was elected prior there. Chosen as bishop by the unanimous consent of the monks. Elected 23 January 1266, temp. 17 March 1266 Consecrated by Ottobon, the Pope's Legate, at Canterbury on 19 September 1266. Buried in the Chapel of the Virgin in Norwich Cathedral on 30 January 1278. Died 22 January 1278.
