History

1st Lt Robert W. Sparrow was born in Oceanside, New York. He was a pilot in the 852nd Bomb Squadron. On his 18th mission, his aircraft, the B-24 'Lambsy Divey' was hit by anti-aircraft fire over Misburg, Germany on the 12 September 1944. The only crew member to survive the crash was Sgt Henry A. Morris. Robert W. Sparrow was buried in the United States Military Cemetery Neuville-en-Condroz, Belgium.
