History

Born at Aylsham. Sheriff in 1509, and mayor in 1517 and 1524. A wealthy man through being a grocer. A great benefactor to the Guildhall, Norwich. Lived in a house called the Two Rammes in the parish of St George Colegate. Died 1530. Buried in the north aisle of St George's Church, Colegate, Norwich. His will was proved in the P.C.C. on 3 February 1530-1531. Son of John and Agnes Jannys. Wife Margaret and two daughters. Brother John lived in Aylsham.
