History

Lt Col Robert 'Bob' Dubowsky was born in Mineola, New York on 19 Febraury 1921. He flew as a co-pilot, initially with the 68th Bomb Squadron but primarily with Thomas L. Harrocks's crew in the 66th Bomb Squadron. He was wounded in action on the return from a mission to the marshalling yards at Dresden, Germany, 16 January 1944. He successfully bailed out of his aeroplane just inside allied lines and returned to duty for two further missions to complete the tour requirement of 35 missions. He died in Satellite Beach, Florida on 5 February 2011.
