Born of a gentile family at Ewel in Surrey. Son of Vincent Corbet. Wife Alice, daughter of Leonard Hutten. Educated at Westminster School, and Broadgates Hall. Student at Christ Church, Oxford, gaining his M.A. in 1605. Promoted to the deanery of Christ Church, Oxford, in 1620. Elected Bishop of Oxford on 30 July 1629. Transferred from Oxford. Elected Bishop of Norwich 7 April 1632, confirmed 7 May 1632. had his temporalities restored on 12 May 1632. Buried in the choir of Norwich Cathedral.
Wrote 'Poetica Stromata'. Died 28 July 1635.
