History

According to Blomefield, Raynham manor came to the Townsends by marriage in the fifteenth century. By this marriage to the Haviles' heiress, the Townsends also came into Helhoughton (?Halls) manor. The two appear to be administered together in court rolls of fifteenth century date (held privately).
