Title
Raphe Rabbard to Sir Thomas Knyvett at Ashwellthorpe: has delivered the coins and money to Mr 'beare Blocke' of Lombard Street who will try to get specie for Knyvett if he provides a list of what he wants; lists books of the late Dr Folkes of Cambridge which he could obtain for Knyvett but he urgently needs money; there has been a great ado with mutinous soldiers - some have been hanged, and many sent to the Low Countries and others are for France; the Queen is said to have sent £1,000 to the King of France and Lord Willoughby is going to help him; news of campaign in France.
[Dr Folkes of Cambridge may have been an ancestor of Martin Folkes who married Dorothy Hovell, c 1682.]
