Biographical history

Son of Alderman Edward Boardman. Wife Florence Esther, daughter of Jeremiah Colman. Mayor in 1905. Educated at Amersham, and joined his father's firm of architects, Edward Boardman & Son. Also worked for a firm of architects in London, and studied architecture at the University College and Slade School. Elected to Town Close Ward in Norwich, chairman of the Education Committee for the City of Norwich School. Purchased a lot of land in Ludham, Norfolk. Built a house at How Hill in Norfolk. High sheriff of Norfolk in 1933. President of the Norfolk Naturalists Society in 1939, founder president of the Norwich Association of Architects, and trustee of the East Anglian Trustee Savings Bank. Lived at How Hill, Norfolk, from 1914
