Albums

Compiled by Antoinette de Carle Smith. Contain papers, mainly relating to family events as well as personal interests. Includes photographs, newspaper cuttings, notes and captions. Some papers are written in the French language.

Photograph album - shop displays and exhibitions

An album featuring photographs of shop window displays and promotional events and exhibitions held at the store and externally, mainly in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The first photograph - a 'House of Jarrolds' float, probably dates from the 1924 centenary celebrations. Also covered in the album is the retirement of Frank Englebright in 1961.

There are 28 loose enclosures, including a folder with photographs of an undated office efficiency exhibition and a 1909 street scene; newspaper clippings, and some photographs taken in 1964. These enclosures are numbered and lettered according to the position in the book that they were found in.

An album featuring photographs of shop window displays and promotional events and exhibitions held at the store and externally, largely from the late 1940s and early 1950s. There are also some press cuttings and related material. There are some loose items, including a photograph from a 1935 exhibition, postcards featuring store decorations for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth, and a torn advertisement for the restaurant, with photograph, on which rough diagrams for displays have been drawn.

Black family of Church House, Heacham, photograph album compiled probably by Bessie Black, c 1900, but with both earlier and later material running c 1880s-1920.

Including members of Black, Rolfe, Gunther and Ingleby families, exterior and interior views of Church House, Heacham, Heacham Church and other Heacham buildings, Sedgeford Hall, Castle Rising Castle, Talbot Ward in the London Hospital, group of Heacham widows, Lord Carmichael and his staff, bomb dropped by Zeppelin in 1915, Sedgeford pageant, family car, c 1900, scenes in Ceylon, Heacham Sunday School class.
