History
This Peculiar belonged to the Rector of Great Cressingham and was exempt from both episcopal and archidiaconal jurisdiction. Blomefield, 'History of Norfolk', vol. IV (1807), p.559 describes it a 'a peculiar by itself, under the sole jurisdiction of its own rector, who had the probation of the wills and all spiritual jurisdiction within the whole parish'. Comprised parish of Great Cressingham only. Abolished in 1857.
