Seven building plots of the Calverley Estate were sold by William Willicombe builder and others to John Lidgett in 1855. Following Lidgett's death in 1861 the plots (nos. 57-64 and part of 69 and 70) with a capital mansion called Kingston House, later Kingswood, were purchased by John Remington Mills, who also acquired part of the furniture. Documents include an Abstract of Title from 1749 and lithograph plans of the Estate, one undated and the other annotated and with added date 1866.
