Founded in 1947. It aims to protect King's Lynn's rich heritage and positively to influence the way the town continues to develop, in order to make Lynn a pleasant and rewarding place to live. It promotes civic pride, protects features of historical interest, makes representations and comments on proposals which affect the town, seeks to influence public opinion on planning issues, arranges regular lectures and visits to places of interest and is involved in many areas of community life. The Society is a Statutory Consultee to the Borough Council and is a registered charity.
