Original and photocopy receipts and financial papers of William Pightling Jarrold and his wife Emma, including some relating to his rental property Coltishall. Found in the same folder were original papers relating to the death of Hannah Elizabeth Jarrold, William's mother, including a copy of her obituary, a memoir of her life, letter of condolence, and a list of funeral attendees and mourning attire supplied to them. In addition, there are other original and photocopy family papers in this folder, including cheques to Samuel Jarrold, a report for a school subscribed to by Samuel, William Pightling and Thomas Jarrold and a letter from John James Jarrold to an aunt. Also in this folder are some original and photocopy business documents, including the Smith & Jarrold catalogue for 1818, a publishing copyright memorandum, and a bond for payment from Benjamin Smith and John Munro to John Jarrold II. Benjamin Smith was John Jarrold II's brother-in-law, he married Hannah's sister and original partner in the publishing and bookselling business.
