Administrative history
In 1827 Henry Hansell and Gardiner Chapman founded a partnership in The Close, Norwich. Merged in 1971 with Stevenson and Co., another firm with its roots in nineteenth century Norwich, to become Hansell Stevenson. In 1987 the partners of Blyth and Robinson joined the firm. The 1990’s saw further expansions with the firm taking over Ian Forman & Co., Purdy & Co., J.A. Rosser & Co., and Edward Bell & Co. In 2001 the Norwich and Cromer firm of Emmett and Tacon also joined Hansell Stevenson.
Later became Hansells.
