History
The Norfolk Windmills Trust was formed on 29 August 1963 and registered as the Norfolk Mills and Pumps Trust. The Trust operates as a registered charity for the preservation of:
(a) Windmills, watermills and drainage mills of historic interest, their sites and remains.
(b) Machinery for milling corn, saw milling, grist milling, paper milling and other similar industrial purposes, or pumping water.
(c) Buildings ancillary to, and occupied with, such mills, sites or machinery.
The Trust is responsible for twenty mills within the county, and is financially and technically supported by Norfolk County Council.
