Scope and content

This part consists mainly of deeds to properties in Norfolk and elsewhere, derived largely from the collections of Revd Francis Blomefield (1705-1752), Peter Le Neve (1661-1729), and Thomas Gabriel Bayfield (died 1893). There are a number of medieval deeds, including one of 1421 with a fine seal of Sir Thomas Erpingham, and groups of deeds and papers relating to the Flowerdew and Knyvett families, mainly in the sixteenth century.

Appraisal, destruction and scheduling

System of arrangement

The documents are extremely miscellaneous and do not fall readily into groups, but those that appear to have a common provenance have been grouped together.
