History

Son of James Bolingbroke, a Quaker, of East Dereham, Norfolk. Married a sister of Sir J.H. Yallop, and had 13 children. Died 9 October 1840 aged 83 years. Lived at 9, Willow Lane, Norwich. Sheriff in 1816, and mayor in 1819. Elected alderman for Colegate Ward in 1814. First became a member of the Common Council in 1797. A supporter of the Blues and Whites. A silversmith and haberdasher by trade, with premises at 2, Market Place, Norwich. Buried under an altar tomb in St Peter Mancroft Church, Norwich.
