Geschiedenis

Son of Francis Wren of the parish of St Peter's-Cheap, London. Studied at Pembroke Hall, Cambridge, becoming a Greek scholar and later a Fellow of that house. Chaplain to Launcelot Andrews, Bishop of Winchester. Master of Peterhouse. Prebend of Westminster. Consecrated Bishop of Hereford. Transferred from Hereford. Elected Bishop of Norwich 10 November 1635, confirmed 5 December 1635. Transferred to Ely 24 April 1638. His body was conveyed to Pembroke Hall, Cambridge, where he was buried.
Wrote 'Increpatio Bar. Jesu' (1660), 'The Abandoning of the Scotch Covenant' (1661), 'Latin Epistles to Gerard John Vossius' (nd). Died 24 April 1667 at Holborn.
