John Norris paid fine to the Honour of Clare for his admission as lord on death of Peter le Neve, 1731. Charlotte Noris paid fine for entry into the lordshiap as heir of late John Norris 1780:all these entries are for entry into Middletons manor and into 'the manor or scite' called Giles Athall in Witchingham [NRO, MS 10827, 10829, BL/MA 68].\r\nJohn Wodehouse is described as 'lord of the manor or reputed manor of Witchingham otherwise Great Witchingham otherwise Middleton and Giles Athall' in the records of Sparham inclosure of 1807 [NRO, BL 4/1].
