Belonged to the Spelman family and was sold to Anthony Hamond in 1691 [NRO, Birbeck Collection].
The Congham Inclosure Award of 1814 refers to the 'manor or manors of Rustens and Reed Hall'; Anthony Hamond is named as lord. The Award does not mention any other manor in Congham, although it refers to a manor of Coldham Hall having copyholds within the parish [NRO, C/Sca 2/76].
Henry Elwes, Esq. of Colesbourne, Gloucestershire, is given as lord of the manor in White's Trade Directory (1845). Arthur Elwes, Esq., is given as lord of the manor in White's Trade Directory (1883).
