Biographical history
Born 18 March 1854, the son of Shakespearean scholar, Clement Mansfield Ingleby. Attended Corpus Christi College, Oxford. Practised as a solicitor in London for several years. Moved to Norfolk on his marriage to Miss Neville Rolfe, daughter of C.F. Neville Rolfe, in 1886 and lived at Sedgeford Hall. Served as Mayor of King;'s Lynn, 1909 and 1919-22;and as MP for King's Lynn, 1910-1918. Wrote and edited several historical works relating to King's Lynn, including (as editor) the 'Red Register of King's Lynn'. Died at Sedgeford, 6 August 1926.
