History

Revd Canon Henry James Lee Warner bought Thorpland Hall, 2 miles north of Fakenham, in 1842 and lived there until his death in 1885, at which time the property was inherited by his eldest son Revd James Lee Warner. When James Lee Warner died in 1918 the estate became the property of Geoffrey Lee Warner, who lived in Australia. He returned to England in 1930 and put the estate on the market, several portions being sold before 1932.
