Administrative history

The Paving Commissioners were established by an Act of Parliament for paving, cleansing, lighting, watching and improving the Borough of King's Lynn, 1803, and an amending Act, 1806. Their powers were transferred to the Borough Council acting as the Urban Sanitary Authority under the Public Health Act, 1872.
