History

Brother Gregory Clerk who was mayor in 1515. Had three wives, Elizabeth, Cecile and Agnes. Cecile had a merchant's mark which she was accustomed to use. Lived in an old flint house opposite the east end of the church. Sheriff in 1507, burgess in Parliament in 2 Henry VIII, mayor in 1515 and 1520. In 1523 he obtained exemption from serving the mayoral office again until 7 years after his last service. Buried in the north aisle of St Andrew's Church, Norwich. Died 22 March 1527.
