Relates to Seething and Mundham, and to the 2nd Air Division USAAF airmen stationed at Seething during the Second World War. Initial deposit relates to Seething and Mundham including photographs (both originals and copies) of the village and people who lived there, copies of documents and local history notes.

The original Post Office featured in this photograph was
situated on the corner of The Common and Old Chapel Road,
Freethorpe.
The photograph was taken around the turn of the century. The man in the trilby is Charles James Brock the postmaster at the time, who was also a tailor.
The man on the left is Charles' son Alfred Robert, born 1st March 1877 and died of his wounds on the last day of WW1, 10th November 1918.
The girl on the left is lsabel (b. 7 June 1885), who took over the Post Office from her father.
ln 1942, Elsie Browne, Charles' granddaughter, took it over as part of her war work and brought it to 91 The Green. She ran it for 35 years. ln 1977, Freda Pipes, her daughter ran it for the following 20 years.
The Post Office then moved to 87 The Green where it was run by Richard Church and subsequently his daughter Joanna until 2017 when it was closed permanently.

Church Recorder Groups, comprising NADFAS members, were set up from 1973 onwards. Their aim is to make comprehensive records of the furnishings in churches with photographs and/or drawings, and to verify, where possible, the history of these furnishings. The original record is given to the church and copies are sent to the National Monuments Record Centre in Swindon and the Council for the Care of Churches (both of which are given a set of photographs and the negatives), the Victoria and Albert Museum Library, the diocese and the NADFAS Church Recorders Library.

The record produced for the furnishings of each church usually comprises sections on memorials and monuments, metalwork, stonework, woodwork, textiles, paintings, documents and registers, windows and other miscellaneous. The age, history, designer and donor are researched and the state of preservation is noted.

Janet Ellis started writing her diaries in July 2010. They form a record of the lives of Janet and her husband Peter, along with their pets, in the small coastal village of of Overstrand and include photograph galleries and a selection of her recipes. Mrs Ellis saw a need for and maintains a village website and her diaries are paper copies of her blog entitiled 'Overstrand Life Janet's Diaries' <www.overstrandlife.co.uk>. They also include the following local information: what's on; village clubs and societies; where to eat and stay; links to places of interest; food and retailers in the area; what to do in the immediate locality; doctors and hospitals; and transport (e.g. trains and buses).
