Photographs of John and Grace Jarrold, apparently relating to their term as Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress.

Photographs of John and Grace Jarrold, many of which were taken by the Eastern Daily Press and which seem to relate to their term as Lord and Lady Mayoress of Norwich in 1970-1. Many of them are labelled but many are undated. Two photographs relate to John's term as Sheriff of Norwich in 1947-8.

Press cuttings, Walpole House photographs, early twentieth century negatives, letter

The press cuttings cover John's presentation to the Princess Margaret during her visit to Norwich in 1952, as well as his marriage to Catherine Grace Elliott in 1932. There is also a 1960 cutting from 'Electrical Review' magazine about low-cost house heating. Found in the same unlabelled envelope was a small envelope of four photographs of Walpole House, Norwich, residence of John's father T.H.C. Jarrold, probably taken in the early twentieth century, as well as a small envelope containing 15 unidentified negatives of street scenes, possibly Norwich, probably dating from the nineteenth century. There was also a letter to John - addressed to 'Jack' - on the death of his father in 1936, from C.H. Udell.

Portrait photographs

A selection of unlabelled portrait photographs of John taken throughout his life, including an envelope marked 'passport photographs'. This contains passport photographs of John as well as a small number of his wife, Grace; a photograph that is probably one of his three sons, and a West front view of St Michael the Archangel's Church, Booton.
