Abstract: Johnson and wife v Gibson. Wife of Edward Richards of Norwich, weaver. She has known the producent, Frances now Johnson, late Aunger for 16 years and that she was known to be the lawful sister of the articulate, John Gibson, and that for 13 or 14 years, was the wife of [Thomas] Aunger [died and will proved 1710-12, ANF f.257. no. 19] and is now the lawful wife of William Johnson.

That on Friday before Mayday last, this deponent being at the White Swan PH in Swaffham, kept by Abraham Russell, in company with the producent, Johnson, the articulate, Gibson, Frances King and others heard Gibson say to Johnson, …., swearing that Johnson had laid with his sister as often as did Mr Aunger before he died, therby committing adultery with Mrs Aunger.
