Relate to visit made by Martin Scott, Assistant County Planning Officer, Mike Shiels [of the BBC] and Billy Ram, former stoker at Fakenham's gas works to the disused works of Fakenham Gas and Coke Co. Ltd, [Hemton Road, Fakenham] in connection with planning proposals for the site.

Collection of mainly interviews, life stories and BBC Radio Norfolk broadcasts concerning True's Yard.

Recorded interviews carried out as research for Mark Cocker's Loneliness and time: the story of British travel writing (Secker, 1992) and Birders: Tales of a Tribe books.

Side A of cassette is annotated 'John Savage Norfolk Yarns'; side B is annotated 'Tales of bygone Norwich'.

Recorded oral history interviews of Norfolk residents with Polish heritage, talking about their life experiences. All interviews relate to post-Second World War. Recorded interviews are accompanied by digital copies of related items, including photographs.

Collection falls in two parts. One are oral histories of people from Norfolk and Suffolk about their lives. The second are interviews with retired railway workers about their experiences, excerpts of which were used in a radio programme called, "The Last of Their Line", broadcast in the late 1960's.
