These list incumbents, churchwardens etc., and mainly contain injunctions as to repairs and furnishings. They continue in effect from the comperta books, though the early ones are entitled libri generales inquisiciones. To 1684 two of the clergy within each deanery are usually designated to carry out the visitation. From 1719 names of churchwardens sworn within the Peculiar of Castle Rising are usually recorded.

To 1640 entered in books called libri veredictorum, nos 4-6 (1598-1608) are signed by the churchwardens or questmen. No 5 was found in 1975 among solicitor's papers, probably of Messrs Jarvis and Morgan, at King's Lynn Town Hall. From 1775 (no 34) the presentments are on printed forms and from 1786 those returned at Easter visitations take the form of replies to printed questionnaires mainly relating to fabric, clerical residence and the frequency of services.
