Correspondence and maps.

Visitation books called libri generales inquisicions listing clergy and churchwardens or questmen. The earliest books contain presentments and also include some office acts. Where presentments are not included (i.e., consignation book only) this is indicated.

Years 1835-1887,1936-1948 only. Declarations for due performance of office. These also occur on the visitation presentments from Easter 1846.

Usually running Easter to Easter, were returned at Archdeacon's Visitations or at Bishop's Visitations when the latter were held, which was normally every seventh year. They were originally filed by the year, but the Archdeacon's Transcripts have been re-sorted by Deanery and by parish within the Deanery. The Archdeacon's transcripts from Norwich City parishes only have been re-sorted into years, however. These yearly files appear to be represented:

It should be emphasised that all transcripts do not survive for all parishes for these years; and that some transcripts were returned to the Bishop in normal years and some to the Archdeacon in Bishop's years. From 1813 onwards, all transcripts were returned to the Bishop.

The Archdeacon acted as collecting agent for procurations, peter's pence and synodals, for the parishes within the Archdeaconry of Norwich.

ANW 15/4 includes Archdeaconry of Norfolk terriers. The series for 1613-1614, 1635 and 1638 reflect vacancies in the See at these dates.
