The notice relates to an Act to be made to Parliament for improvements in King's Lynn, posted by R.Whincop. Robert Whincop was town clerk from 16 Apr 1785, succeeded on 13 Oct 1803 by his nephew, also called Robert. The notice is believed to have been posted by Whincop senior and his nephew is the Mr Whincop to whom the letter is addressed. Whincop and Lane, law firm of King's Lynn, acted, inter alia, for the Bagge family.
