  • 1725-1812

Register Bills, or yearly transcripts of parish registers, usually running Easter to Easter, were returned at Archdeacon's Visitations or at Bishop's Visitation when the latter were held, which was normally every seventh year. They were usually filed by the year but the Archdeacon's Transcripts have been re-sorted by Deanery and by parish within the Deanery. For the Norfolk Archdeaconry these yearly files appear to be represented:

1725-1726, 1726-1727, 1727-1728, 1731-1732, 1732-1733, 1735-1736, 1737-1738, 1738-1739, 1740-1741, 1741-1742, 1742-1743, 1743-1744, 1745-1746, 1747-1748, 1748-1749, 1749-1750, 1750-1751, 1751-1752, 1753-1754, 1754-1755, 1755-1756, 1756-1757, 1757-1758, 1757-1759, 1760-1761, 1761-1762, 1763-1764, 1764-1765, 1765-1766, 1766-1767, 1767-1768, 1768-1769, 1770-1771, 1771-1772, 1772-1773, 1773-1774, 1774-1775, 1775-1776, 1777-1778, 1778-1779, 1779-1780, 1780-1781, 1781-1782, 1782-1783, 1784-1785, 1785-1786, 1786-1787, 1787-1788, 1788-1789, 1789-1790, 1791-1792, 1794-1795, 1795-1796, 1796-1797, 1797-1798, 1798-1799, 1799-1800, 1801-1802, 1803-1804, 1806-1807, 1807-1808, 1808-1809, 1809-1810, 1810-1811, 1811-1812.

For this Archdeaconry the transcripts for the following years were returned to the Bishop and survive with the Bishop's Transcripts:

1691-1692, 1698-1699, 1705-1706, 1708-1709, 1709-1710, 1713-1714, 1715-1716, 1716-1717, 1718-1719, 1720-1721, 1721-1722, 1705-1706, 1708-1709, 1709-1710, 1713-1714, 1715-1716, 1716-1717, 1718-1719, 1720-1721, 1721-1722, 1722-1723, 1723-1724, 1724-1725, 1728-1729, 1729-1730, 1730-1731, 1733-1734, 1734-1735, 1736-1737, 1739-1740, 1744-1745, 1746-1747, 1752-1753, 1759-1760, 1762-1763, 1769-1770, 1776-1777, 1783-1784, 1790-1791, 1792-1793, 1793-1794, 1800-1801, 1802-1803, 1804-1805, 1805-1806, 1812-1813.

It should be emphasised that all transcripts do not survive for the parishes for these years; and that some transcripts were returned to the Bishop in normal years and some to the Archdeacon in Bishop's years. From 1813 onwards all transcripts were returned to the Bishop.

Other documents returnable at visitation, for example lists of church goods, are occasionally copied onto the transcripts.
