Frederick Parker was born in London in October 1926. He was a very intelligent child and won a scholarship to the Central Foundation School. The whole school was evacuated to Fakenham in Norfolk, during the evacuation Parker kept a handwritten diary in which he records the events of everyday life, while having an awareness of international affairs in the Second World War. The collection includes a transcript of the diary and an edition of the magazine of Parker's school.
